McLoughlin Counseling Group team members gathered together in a warm, professional setting

Welcome to McLoughlin Counseling Group

Choosing a therapist is a very personal decision, and it matters that you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. At McLoughlin Counseling Group, with offices in Prescott and Tucson, Arizona, our goal is to provide a steady, trustworthy place for people to do meaningful, long-term therapeutic work. We know that real change often takes time, and we are honored to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate both painful experiences and hopeful new beginnings.

Who We Are and What We Do

McLoughlin Counseling Group specializes in deep, long-term psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health and trauma-related concerns. Many of the people who come to us are carrying stories of loss, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or the lingering impact of traumatic experiences. Others simply feel stuck and are not sure why. Whatever brings you in, our therapists are committed to offering thoughtful, ethical, and professional care that moves at a pace that feels manageable for you.

We believe that healing grows out of a consistent, trusting relationship. Our clinicians draw on well-established therapeutic approaches, but just as importantly, they bring warmth, curiosity, and respect to each session. We work with adults across the lifespan, and many of our therapists have advanced training in trauma therapy and related areas, allowing us to offer depth-oriented treatment tailored to your specific needs and history.

Why Choose a Group Practice?

One of the strengths of McLoughlin Counseling Group is that we are a community of clinicians rather than a single solo practitioner. That matters for your care. In a group practice, you have access to a broader range of specialties, backgrounds, and personalities. This means we can be thoughtful about matching you with a therapist whose training, style, and availability line up with what you are looking for.

Behind the scenes, our therapists consult with one another regularly. This peer consultation allows us to think more deeply and creatively about the concerns our clients bring into the room, always while protecting your privacy and confidentiality.

A group practice also offers greater continuity. If your clinician is temporarily unavailable, we have trusted colleagues who can provide interim support. If your needs change over time, you can transition to another therapist within the same practice without starting from scratch.

A Place for Learning, Supervision, and Growth

McLoughlin Counseling Group is not only a home for clients; it is also a place of learning for clinicians. We serve as a clinical supervision and training institute for new therapists in our community. Our highly experienced Supervision and Education Team provides structured guidance and mentoring for early-career clinicians as they develop their skills and move toward full licensure.

Over the past six years, we have supported more than ten new graduates in successfully reaching full licensure. By investing time and energy into training the next generation of therapists, we help ensure that our community will continue to have access to thoughtful, high-quality care for years to come.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one, or you are a clinician looking for a place to learn and grow, McLoughlin Counseling Group is here to offer a grounded, compassionate environment. We would be honored to be part of your journey.

Behind the desk, a blurred bookcase holds neatly organized psychology books and subtle decorative objects in muted blues and greens. Warm, indirect lamp light mixes with soft overcast daylight from a nearby window, creating gentle reflections on the tablet screen. Shot from a slightly elevated angle, the composition follows the rule of thirds, emphasizing order, calm, and modern professionalism in an outpatient psychotherapy setting.

Meet Our Clinicians

Our licensed clinicians bring diverse specialties and advanced training, helping you find a therapist who fits your needs.

A serene therapy room corner without any human presence, featuring a plush moss-green loveseat with textured cushions and a folded knitted blanket, next to a round side table holding a glass of water, a small box of tissues, and a sleek, analog clock. A tall, leafy indoor plant rises behind the loveseat, its leaves catching soft golden hour sunlight streaming through sheer curtains. The light creates dappled patterns on the light-wood floor and a subtle glow on the neutral beige walls. Photographic realism captured at eye level with balanced composition and moderate depth of field, conveying warmth, trust, and emotional safety while clearly situating the viewer in a modern, welcoming counseling environment.
